Lacey in action

“We are aiming to strengthen our relationship as a team in order to play well together on the field.” ~ Alana Wright

North Pocono’s girls’ soccer team is putting their all into this current 2017 season! The girls currently have 3 wins and 2 losses including scrimmages (as of 9/19/17) with losses from Wallenpaupack, Prep, Crestwood and Phoenixville, but big wins are expected in the final stretch! Despite a few tough losses, they are still doing extremely well in their division with wins over Honesdale and Scranton. The girls hope to defend their title of division champions this season.

Alana Wright, junior, said, “We are aiming to strengthen our relationship as a team in order to play well together on the field.” The girls get together for team eats and different activities like soccer golf to have fun and loosen up a bit.

Lacey Rinaldi, senior, has scored 9 goals this season so far, and 58 in her whole career. “... I’m going to feel incomplete without soccer. Mostly, I’m going to miss the team aspect, celebrations and excitement after goals, and the fun that accompanies every game,” she says.

The girl’s team will be losing a lot of great seniors at the end of the season including Jenna Schmidt, Lacey Rinaldi, Amanda Paglianite, Allyson Fitch, Sarah Wojnar, Alex Guse, Catey Wolff, and Abby Coleman. Megan Winslow, first year player, said “It was a little scary since it was my first year but the [SENIOR] girls were very welcoming and helped me get so much better. Without the team support I wouldn’t have gotten better.” There are high hopes that this year’s sophomores and juniors will fill their shoes!
